Is it possible to exchange an Ipod bought in another country for the new version?

I bought a Ipod nano while on vacation in france 4 months ago , now i'm back in canada and want to know is it possible to exchange it, if i take it to the apple store? I don't think the store i bought it in france exists here. I still have the reciept and everything.

1. You can't exchange ipod's silly. They probably won't give you a refund. But if they do get the refund and add money and then get the ipod you seek.
2. Um... If you can find an apple store, you can probably get a refund.... But you'll still need more money because the newest ipods are more expensive than the older models. You can also consider ebay and other auction sites.
