Do you have to use the Apple USB to charge iPod?

I'm on vacation and I forgot to bring it, but my cousin has a Sansa mp3 playe charger that fits in my iPod, but it won't show any signs of working after five minutes. I don't know whether this is because my iPod's battery is 0 and it takes time; or if there's something wrong with it. Also, the computer that I'm on doesn't recgonize the device and it says something malfunctioned, so I'm a bit confused. Any help? But the iPod is getting quite warm when connected.

  1. You should get on your computer and get your apple usb thats why nothing will work
  2. You don't have to use Apple products but , you do have to use a USB that is made for iPods. You can get them anywhere I have even seen them in gas stations.
  3. I doubt that it works in the ipod. Only cords designed especially for the ipods usually work. I suggest you unplug it right away, or you may cause damage to your ipod.
