- If you can charge it from your house, all you need is a converter that you can plug your AC Adapter into. then you can plug that into your cigarette lighter that's built into the car.you can probably get them at popular computer stores. Your car has to be turned on in order to use it, however.

- Ah! The great road trip now requires a computer, does it? I went across the U.S. in my car twice (W-E and E-W) but no computer in tow. Unless your truck is an R.V. with regular main A.C. (like in your house), you would need a D.C. to A.C. inverter. If you find that you need clean, sine wave power, I think it will be cheaper to stay at Motel 6 and charge the MacBook in the room. If you want to buy an inverter (link below for starters) in North America or the Caribbean area, it will be 12 volt D.C. input and 110-120 volt A.C. output. In most of the rest of the universe, it will be 12 volt D.C. input and 220-240 volt A.C. output. Either will work as the Apple laptop chargers are universal. Contact Apple to see if the charger should be connected to a true sine wave inverter ($300-400) or a square wave inverter ($35-100). If the technician doesn't know about inverters (he might get one call in five years about this), he can consult with the second level of tech support. Hope your MacBook is less than 90 days old or covered by AppleCare Protection Plan as this info could cost you a $50 support fee. Alternately, go to the genius bar of an Apple retail store.
